Ep-3: Childhood Of Mahavir
Every event in the life of such an extraordinary personality serves as inspiration for thinkers. Vardhmankumar's childhood was replete with such events. His parents, like all parents, decided to send him to school for education. Despite being a prodigy even in the womb, Vardhmankumar never boasted about his knowledge. It is said that "a diamond never announces its value."
To showcase Vardhmankumar's unique knowledge, on the first day of school, Indra himself disguised as a Brahmin and posed various grammar-related questions to the child. These were questions that the teacher had long been unable to answer. "Language" is the foundation of "knowledge," and "grammar" is the foundation of "languages."
Vardhmankumar answered all the questions, leading to the creation of a new grammar called "Jainendra." Upon hearing the solutions, the teacher remarked, "Truly, the depth of Vardhmankumar's seriousness is like the sea. It is also said that copper makes much noise but holds little value, whereas gold makes little noise but holds great value." Thus, Vardhmankumar's abilities and characteristics became known to all.
Despite being a child, Vardhmankumar's wisdom surpassed even that of adults. He was careful not to hurt the feelings of anyone, including his friends. Though born into royalty, he exhibited no arrogance, displaying modesty and humility in all his interactions while also possessing fearlessness and strength—a rare combination of traits.
