The asceticism and renunciation of Jain culture once had a magical influence on the thinkers and scholars of Egypt, Greece, and Babylon. A philosopher named Pére has said, 'I found true philosophical knowledge only with Jain ascetics.' The image of Lord Mahavir, the promoter and propagator of the Shramana culture, is deeply ingrained in my heart. When I close my eyes, I behold the luminous form of Lord Mahavir within me.
